How to delete your group on roblox

Are you trying to delete your Roblox group? If so, this is the guide to read.

You may own an old Roblox group which you no longer want to be involved with, and so you want to delete it. This guide will explain exactly how.

Currently, Roblox unfortunately don’t have a feature to completely delete groups. However, there are some settings you can use to help hide your group and prevent Roblox players from joining. Hopefully in the future, Roblox will add a delete button for groups.

Essentially, we will guide you through the best way to almost delete your Roblox group and get as close as possible to it.

Also, we will include the steps for Roblox on your computer and Roblox mobile.

Lets get right in to this!

1. Prevent Roblox Players Joining The Group

The first way to essentially delete your group is by preventing anymore players from joining the group.

Go to Roblox.com or open the Roblox app.

Roblox On Your Computer

Here are the steps to follow if you are using Roblox on your computer.

1. Go to your group settings

Firstly, you need to go to your Roblox groups.

Click on “Groups” from the menu on the left hand side.

Then, choose the group you want to prevent players from joining.

Once you have clicked the group, click on the three dots in the top right and a menu will be shown.

Click on “Configure Group”.

Once you are on the “Configure Group” page, click on “Settings” from the menu on the left hand side.

2. Turn on “Manual Approval” under “Join Requirements”

Next, you need to look for “Join Requirements”, it should be near the top of the group settings.

In this section, you will see “Manual Approval” and switch next to it. Enable the switch so the setting is turned on.

Now, user requests must be accepted to join the group.

Therefore, if no-one accepts them, they won’t be able to join.

Also, you may have to complete Roblox two factor authentication when changing settings on your group.

Roblox On Your Mobile Device

Here are the steps to prevent users from joining your group on the mobile version of Roblox.

1. Open your group settings

Firstly, you need to open your Roblox group settings.

Tap on the three dots in the bottom right corner of Roblox.

Next, tap on “Groups” from the menu.

Then, choose the group which you want to prevent players from joining.

Once you have tapped on the group, tap on the three dots in the top right and tap “Configure Group”.

Now, you are on the “Configure Group” page.

Tap on the box to get the drop-down menu which by default, should be on “Information” and you need to tap on “Settings”.

2. Under “Join Requirements” enable “Manual Approval”

Next, you need to look for “Join Requirements” and then “Manual Approval”.

Also, you will see the description which says:

Users requests must be accepted to join a group.

So, make sure you turn on “Manual Approval” and now you can just ignore the user requests and users won’t be able to join the group.

2. Change Roblox Group Description

The next step is to change your group description.

You can edit your group description to briefly explain that your group will be inactive and no longer in use.

Roblox On Your Computer

Firstly, go back to the “Configure Group” page again.

So, to get to that page, click on the three dots in the top right of your Roblox group and click “Configure”.

Then, scroll down the page and you will see the heading, “Description” and a text box you can edit.

As as example, we put:

This group is no longer used and we will not accept new members. Feel free to leave.

Make sure you click “Save” below the text box to save it.

Roblox On Your Mobile Device

You will need to navigate back to the “Configure Group” page.

So, go back to your group and click on the three dots in the top right.

Click on “Configure” and you will be taken to the group configuration page.

Make sure “Information” is selected and scroll down until you see “Description” and below it will be a text box you can type in and edit.

As an example for you, we entered:

We no longer use this group and will not be accepting any join requests. Feel free to leave the group.

Make sure you click on “Save” just below it once you have finished!

3. Remove Members From Your Group

If you have a large group, this will not work because you have to remove each member individually.

However, if you have a small group, then it’s worth doing.

The steps are similar on both desktop and mobile platforms of Roblox.

So, go to the “Configure Group” page on Roblox and on the desktop platform of Roblox, click on “Members” from the menu on the left hand side.

Or, if you are on the mobile platform of Roblox, bring up the list of pages you can visit on the “Configure Group” page and select “Members” as well.

Then, you will be able to view all of the members in your group.

To remove a member, click or tap on the three dots next to each member’s name.

You will have the option to “Exile User”, which means remove them from the group.

You will need to confirm your option to exile the user as well.

As we already said, this only works if you have a small group as otherwise it will take a long time.

4. Leave Your Roblox Group

The final way is to leave your Roblox group. This will leave the group owner-less, but it does not matter because players won’t be able to join because manual requests will be turned on.

Also, before you leave your group, check what roles users have in your group as it may be worth removing them as otherwise they could take over your group.

Once again, go back to your Roblox group and click on the three dots in the top right on both Roblox desktop and Roblox mobile.

Then, click or tap on “Leave Group”.

You will get a pop-up from Roblox asking you to confirm your decision and notifying you that the group will be made “ownerless”.

So, click or tap “Yes” if you are sure you want to leave your group.

Remember, you won’t be able to get the “Owner” role again, even if you join the group again, so make sure you are certain about your decision.
