In each episode, one massive celeb will be unmasked, and their identity revealed to the panel and the nation. We're keeping an eye on every clue, every hint and every guess that comes our way, but for anyone looking to see which celebs have been revealed, we'll update this list after each celeb responds to our cries of "Take it off! Take it off!" Find out which celebrities have been unmasked on The Masked Singer Australia 2022 so far: Episode 1: KnightRevealed to be: Ryan Maloney The Neighbours star was our first celeb unmasked this year after a rousing performance of Ed Sheeran's "Bad Habits". While the Knight mask already had his head removed, the Ramsay Street royal joked that after 28 years on Neighbours, "This is the shortest job I have ever had!" Though his time on The Masked Singer stage came to an early end, Ryan managed to sneak past the guessing panel without any suspicion, as Abbie, Mel B, Chrissie and Hughsey's final guesses included Shannon Noll, Nick Cummins, Brendan Fevola and David Hasselhoff. Episode 2: CaterpillarRevealed to be: Lisa Curry Australian gold medalist and sporting legend Lisa Curry was the second celeb to take their mask off. After she performed “Cloudy Day” by Tones and I, Lisa was unmasked and told the panel, “Caterpillars can’t sing… but they do turn into butterflies and that I can do”. During her short stint in the Caterpillar mask, Lisa was able to fool the panel, though there was a sneaking suspicion for half the panel that it could be a sports star with the four of them guessing Caterpillar could be Sally Pearson, Emily Seebohm Carrie Bickmore or Schapelle Corby. Episode 3 – ThongRevealed to be: Pia Miranda Having performed “Footloose” and Pink’s “So What”, Thong was the third celebrity to be revealed as none other than Aussie Icon and Australian Survivor champion Pia Miranda. All smiles after her unmasking, Pia felt right at home in the huge Thong costume revealing, “I used to be Tweety Bird at Movie World”. Despite all the clues in front of them, the panel weren’t able to guess Pia’s true identity, instead thinking she could be anyone from Bindi Irwin to Iggy Azalea and even MasterChef’s Khanh Ong. While Pia was able to conceal her true identity from the panel, she explained to Osher that the only people she really hoped she had concealed herself from were her kids. “When I was practising at home, I was trying to sneak away so they didn’t know, so I’m hoping that we can have a really good experience together,” she said adding, “sorry for lying to you again”. Episode 4 - TigerRevealed to be: Jamie Durie Aussie TV Icon Jamie Durie was unmasked after a song duel with Popcorn. Jamie performed a rousing rendition of “In the Air Tonight” by Phil Collins that had the panel on their feet and whipping out their best air drum solos. Having performed all over the world, Jamie looked quite at home prowling around on the Masked Singer stage which he said came with time. “I think the first time I set foot on stage I was about 16, that’s when I started and this is my 59th series of TV,” he told the panel. Making an early impression on Abbie Chatfield in particular, the cheeky Tiger brought out the best in all of the panel with Jamie admitting, “There is a little bit of Tiger still left in me, don’t worry about that.” Stay tuned for more updates as The Masked Singer Australia continues! Season 7 of the Fox reality competition The Masked Singer is here and this time, the contestants have been split into three groups: The Good, The Bad or The Cuddly. Last season, Queen of Hearts, a.k.a. singer Jewel, took home the Gold Mask trophy. This season's lineup — Armadillo, Baby Mammoth, Cyclops, Firefly, Hydra, Jack in the Box, Lemur, McTerrier, Miss Teddy, The Prince, Ram, Ringmaster, Space Bunny, Thingamabob and Queen Cobra — is stacked with mystery stars who are ready to take on the competition. Ken Jeong, Jenny McCarthy, Nicole Scherzinger and Robin Thicke have returned as judges and Nick Cannon is back as host. Before diving into who has been revealed this week, check out the history of unmasked celebs and every single Masked Singer winner so far. The Masked Singer airs Wednesdays (8 p.m. ET) on Fox.
Celebrity Behind the Mask: Duff Goldman To kick off the premiere, Team Cuddly sent out Thingamabob, who performed Bon Jovi's "Wanted Dead or Alive." Next, Team Good's McTerrier took the stage to play their rendition of Loverboy's "Working for the Weekend" by playing the drums. He rocked out so hard that at the end of the performance, McTerrier's costume head fell off! The judges quickly turned around to avoid identifying McTerrier, and the crew swiftly helped the star put the head back on. Cyclops from Team Bad followed up the shocking moment by belting "My Sacrifice" by Creed. Firefly continued the evening for Team Good with a slowed-down version of Chaka Khan's "Ain't Nobody" — but then they started choking and had to be ushered off stage. Ram jumped on in the meantime to perform "I Want You to Want Me" by Cheap Trick. At the end of the eventful night, the panel and studio audience voted for their favorite performance and host Cannon revealed that McTerrier received the least votes. Pastry chef and Food Network star Duff Goldman turned out to be under the furry white getup. "I was just really worried that I let everybody down," Goldman told PEOPLE, when asked how he felt when his costume head fell off. "I didn't want to ruin the show. " Despite the hiccup, Goldman said he loves music and added that if he was asked back on the show, he "would do it again in a heartbeat."
Celebrity Behind the Mask: Joe Buck This week, Modern Family's Eric Stonestreet joined the panel as guest judge and Team Good's Firefly got the night started with Michael Jackson's "P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing)." Team Bad's Cyclops went next to perform Elvis Presley's "Suspicious Minds," and then Ram gave its best "Learn to Fly" by Foo Fighters. Finally, Team Cuddly's Thingamabob closed out the night with a cover of Ed Sheeran's "Perfect." Once the votes came in, it was Ram who had to unmask. Judges Stonestreet and Robin Thicke guessed sports commentator Joe Buck, and they were right.
Celebrity Behind the Mask: Jorge Garcia The competition's first double elimination took place this week and fans had to say goodbye to two competitors. Thingamabob took the stage first with a fun cover of MTKO's "Classic." Team Bad's Cyclops followed up with "Flashdance (What a Feeling)" by Irene Cara. Next, Firefly performed Charlie Puth's "Attention" and before the vote, Cyclops, Firefly and Thingamabob hit the stage one more time during the Final Showdown to sing "I Got You (I Feel Good)" by James Brown. Once the judges and studio audience casted their votes, Cyclops was announced to be the first one to have to unmask, and actor Jorge Garcia appeared under the giant horned head. "I love this show and it's really been an honor to come play," the Lost alum said.
Celebrity Behind the Mask: Jordan Mailata Next, Cannon revealed that Firefly would advance to the finals, which meant that Thingamabob would be going home. Thingamabob turned out to be another football pro: Philadelphia Eagles player Jordan Mailata. "I was a singer first before any sort of athlete," the Australia native said. The judges couldn't believe an active NFL player appeared on the show. "This has been an incredible experience for me," Mailata continued. "I want to say if you want to do something, just do it."
Celebrity Behind the Mask: Christie Brinkley The model mom only lasted for one round on the Fox competition show before taking her Lemur mask off on March 30. She sang Carole King's "I Feel the Earth Move," but actually planned on doing a different song first. "I was doing 'Dream a Little Dream' and they turned the whole stage into a night sky full of stars. That was supposed to be my opening number, but they switched it out that morning," Brinkley reveals. "I was really surprised to suddenly be doing a different song but, that's pretty common in showbiz. You got to be ready for anything." As for being the first to go home, Brinkely was disappointed though not surprised. "I knew halfway down the runway when I couldn't see anything and I couldn't breathe that that was most likely going to be the scenario," she told PEOPLE.
Celebrity Behind the Mask: Penn Jillette and Teller Ringmaster started out the evening for Team Good with her version of Nicki Minaj's "Super Bass." Armadillo went next and sang "I Fought the Law" by The Bobby Fuller Four. Team Bad's Hydra kept the night moving with their cover of ZZ Top's "Sharp Dressed Man," and then Miss Teddy wrapped things up for Team Cuddly with a soulful version of Demi Lovato's "Tell Me You Love Me." After the vote, Armadillo and Hydra had to face off in a duel for recieving the least votes and in the end, it was Hydra that had to unmask. Guest judge Nicole Byer nailed her guess of magician duo Penn Jillette and Teller. Although the pair were eliminated, they both were surprised at how far they came in the competition. "I thought, 'Well, about f---ing time.' We went much longer than we thought we were going to," Jillette told PEOPLE.
Celebrity Behind the Mask: Dog the Bounty Hunter This week, host Nick Cannon announced that two of the three contestants would be going home in a double elimination, and the one left standing would head to the finale. Armadillo, Miss Teddy and Ringmaster battled it out and then came together at the end to perform Blondie's "One Way or Another" before the studio audience and panel voted on their favorite performance of the night. In the end, Cannon announced that Armadillo would be the first disguised star to reveal their identity. Underneath the mask was reality star Dog the Bounty Hunter.
Celebrity Behind the Mask: Jennifer Holliday Next, Cannon revealed that Miss Teddy would be the final contestant leaving, meaning Ringmaster would move on to the finals. Judge Nicole Scherzinger guessed actress and Grammy winner Jennifer Holliday would be under the fuzzy costume, and she was right.
Celebrity Behind the Mask: Rudy Giuliani This week's unmasking left some of the judges speechless. After a string of great performances, the votes came in and it was Jack in the Box who had to unmask. When Jack in the Box removed their mask, former New York City major and President Donald Trump's lawyer Rudy Giuliani, who was suspended from practicing law in New York last year after a court found he made "demonstrably false" statements about Trump's 2020 election loss, appeared. "This is definitely something I never would have guessed," Robin Thicke said. While Jenny McCarthy said she "had no idea" about Giuliani's identity, Ken Jeong stood stone-faced with his arms folded. "With all of the controversy that's surrounding you right now, I think it surprises us all that you're here on The Masked Singer," host Nick Cannon told 77-year-old Giuliani, the subject of an ongoing federal investigation for his involvement with Ukraine. Cannon then asked Giuliani why he came on the show. "I guess the main reason is, I just had a granddaughter, Grace, and I want her to know that you should try everything, even things that are completely unlike you and unlikely," Giuliani said. "And I couldn't think of anything more unlike me and unlikely than this. And I enjoy the show. I have for years. And it just seemed like it'd be fun. I don't get to have a lot of fun." McCarthy jumped up and down as Giuliani performed unmasked but Jeong walked off, saying, "I'm done." Scherzinger and McCarthy stayed at the judges' panel and danced.
Celebrity Behind the Mask: Kirstie Alley This week had Prince, Baby Mammoth, Space Bunny and Queen Cobra fighting to be the last performer standing in the competition. Queen Cobra got the night going with their version of Aretha Franklin's "I Say a Little Prayer." Team Cuddly's Space Bunny went next and covered Lionel Richie's "All Night Long (All Night)," followed by Baby Mammoth, who sang "The Shoop Shoop Song (It's in His Kiss)" by Cher. The Mammoth also shared a short original song she wrote, which basically consisted of repeating the words "Baby Mammoth" in a bouncy cadence, before Prince finished off for Team Good with an emotional cover of Sam Smith's "Lay Me Down." In the end, Baby Mammoth and Space Bunny received the least votes and had to battle it out again. The judges voted for Space Bunny, which meant Baby Mammoth was going home. Underneath the mask was actress Kirstie Alley. The audience and judges sang along to Alley's "Baby Mammoth" tune before she performed unmasked.
Celebrity Behind the Mask: Shaggy The Prince, Space Bunny and Queen Cobra went all out to compete for the last spot in the finale. The Prince started it off with Stevie Wonder's "Sir Duke," Space Bunny rapped to "Now That We Found Love" by Heavy D & The Boyz featuring Aaron Hall, Queen Cobra went next and revealed that they're actually three singers. The group delievered Silk Sonic's "Leave the Door Open, before all three competitors came out to perform a group number to Katy Perry's "Roar." At the end of the night, the votes were counted and Space Bunny was announced to be the first singer to go home. Under the mask was singer Shaggy.
Celebrity Behind the Mask: En Vogue The next act to go home was Queen Cobra. Judge Nicole Scherzinger's suggestion of En Vogue ultimately turned out to be correct, as Rhona Bennett, Terry Ellis and Cindy Herron all turned up on stage when their masks came off. With the final unmasking, that meant The Prince advanced to the finale. "I'm so proud of myself," the amphibian said. "I'm so excited. I did what I came to do and that is show my heart and just be in this incredible experience with incredible artists." |
