What time is the lsu alabama game

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — There were three possible scenarios for which time slot the Alabama game against LSU is played on November 6.

With CBS opting for Alabama vs. Texas A&M as its game of the week, LSU at Alabama fell to ESPN, which opted for a 6 p.m. kickoff.

The decision was dependent on which games between Georgia and Missouri and Auburn and Texas A&M are selected for two of the three available time slots, and the decision will be made upon conclusion of this week's games on October 30.

As for Alabama, the 7-1 Crimson Tide is on its bye week this week and won't play again until it hosts LSU next month. The Tigers, which will arrive in Tuscaloosa with a 4-4 record this season, also have an off week after losing to Ole Miss on Saturday.

The last time these two programs met was December 5 of last year at LSU, when top-ranked Alabama left Baton Rouge with a 55-17 win over the Tigers.

All-time, the next meeting will be the 86th. The series record favors Alabama by a tally of 54-26-5 with the Crimson Tide also leading in its home matchups, 24-17-2.

The first game between the two schools was played in 1895.

However, this year's game features a storyline which wasn't present during the past few occasions: LSU's Ed Orgeron will be coaching in his last game versus Alabama after agreeing to resign after the 2021 season.

In four meetings with the Crimson Tide at LSU, the Tigers head coach has a 1-3 record with the 2019 game at Bryant-Denny Stadium the lone win.

Alabama football will host LSU on Saturday at 6 p.m. on ESPN.

The Crimson Tide is fresh off an open week after a 52-24 victory over Tennessee.

It will be the final game against Alabama for Ed Orgeron as LSU coach.

While coaching the Tigers, Orgeron has only beaten Nick Saban and Alabama once. That came in 2019 during LSU's national championship season. He enters his final matchup, after it was announced he would not return as LSU's coach after this season, 1-4 against Alabama during his time with the Tigers.

Most recently, the Crimson Tide defeated LSU 55-17 on Dec. 5, 2020 in Baton Rouge.

What to Know

The LSU Tigers haven't won a contest against the #25 Alabama Crimson Tide since Jan. 29 of 2020, but they'll be looking to end the drought Saturday. The Tigers and Bama will face off in an SEC battle at noon ET at Pete Maravich Assembly Center. Given that these two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

LSU was just a bucket short of a win on Wednesday and fell 77-76 to the Arkansas Razorbacks. The losing side was boosted by forward Tari Eason, who had 24 points along with seven boards.

Meanwhile, the matchup between Bama and the Texas A&M Aggies on Wednesday was not particularly close, with Bama falling 87-71. If the result catches you off guard, it should: Bama was far and away the favorite. Guard Jahvon Quinerly wasn't much of a difference maker for the Crimson Tide; Quinerly finished with 14 points on 5-for-11 shooting and turned the ball over five times in his 35 minutes on the court.

The Tigers are now 20-10 while Bama sits at 19-11. Two defensive numbers to keep in mind before tip-off: LSU have been holding their opponents to a field goal percentage of 38.50%, which places them ninth in college basketball. Less enviably, Bama is stumbling into the game with the 21st most points allowed per game in college basketball, having given up 76.1 on average. So the cards are definitely stacked against the Crimson Tide.

What to Know

The #13 LSU Tigers haven't won a matchup against the Alabama Crimson Tide since Jan. 29 of 2020, but they'll be looking to end the drought Wednesday. The Tigers and Bama will face off in an SEC battle at 7 p.m. ET at Coleman Coliseum. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

LSU entered their game against the Arkansas Razorbacks this past Saturday without any home losses -- but there's a first time for everything. LSU fell to Arkansas 65-58. LSU's loss came about despite a quality game from forward Alex Fudge, who had 13 points. Fudge's performance made up for a slower matchup against the Florida Gators last week.

Meanwhile, it was close but no cigar for Bama as they fell 78-76 to the Mississippi State Bulldogs this past Saturday. Four players on the Crimson Tide scored in the double digits: guard Jaden Shackelford (17), guard Keon Ellis (14), forward Darius Miles (14), and center Charles Bediako (11).

The Tigers are expected to lose this next one by 3.5. Those burned by picking them against the spread this past Saturday might want to keep in mind that the squad has not yet dropped back-to-back games against the spread this season.

When the two teams previously met in March of last year, LSU and Bama were neck-and-neck, but LSU came up empty-handed after an 80-79 defeat. The loss knocked LSU out of the playoffs, so expect them to come at Bama with a vengeful fire.
