How long does a HTTP session last?By default, a session lasts until there's 30 minutes of inactivity, but you can adjust this limit so a session lasts from a few seconds to several hours.
What is PHP default session timeout?1440 seconds is the default which is actually 24 minutes.
How do I keep a PHP session alive?session_start() creates a session or resumes the current one based on a session identifier passed via a GET or POST request, or passed via a cookie. When session_start() is called or when a session auto starts, PHP will call the open and read session save handlers.
How do sessions work in PHP?PHP responds by sending a unique token that identifies the current session. This is known as the session ID. In all subsequent requests, the browser sends the session ID to say, "Hey, it's me again." All other data related to the session is stored on the web server. Only the session ID gets passed back and forth.
