No. 7 Oklahoma State welcomes No. 10 Oklahoma into hostile territory in Stillwater on Saturday for one of the most anticipated matchups in the history of their bitter rivalry as this year's Bedlam has national championship dreams on the line for both teams. The Sooners escaped Iowa State in Week 12 with a 28-21 victory. However, the Cyclones had a chance to tie the game before Brock Purdy threw a backbreaking interception in the red zone.

Oklahoma State is playing its best football over the past four weeks since suffering its lone loss to the Cyclones. The Cowboys beat Texas Tech, TCU, West Virginia and Kansas by a combined 165-23. On Saturday, Oklahoma State smothered the Red Raiders 23-0, holding Texas Tech to just 108 yards of total offense and 2.6 yards per pass attempt.

The winner of this game quickly becomes the conference favorite to earn a trip to the College Football Playoff, provided they can win in the Big 12 Championship Game to finish 12-1. The loser is eliminated, though Oklahoma State will still earn a trip to the title game with a loss.

With Oklahoma jumping two spots into the AP top 10, this ranks as just the third top-10 Bedlam matchup ever. Oklahoma won both previous meetings, including a 58-23 win in 2005 and 24-14 win in 1984. The Cowboys have not beaten the rival Sooners since 2014. This could be the last matchup in Stillwater for several years, as Oklahoma soon leaves for the SEC.

Oklahoma vs. Oklahoma State: Need to know

Historic dominance: Oklahoma State is in the most successful era in program history under coach Mike Gundy. But despite seven 10-win seasons and eight AP Top 25 finishes, Oklahoma has continued to have OSU's number. The Sooners hold a 90-18-7 record all-time against the rival Cowboys, including a 14-2 mark against Gundy. The only wins came during OSU's historic 2-1 Fiesta Bowl campaign in 2011, and in 2014 when the Sooners fired their offensive staff to hire Lincoln Riley as offensive coordinator. With Oklahoma State fielding one of its best teams, and Oklahoma fielding a poor one, can the Cowboys turn the tide?

Elite defense: Oklahoma State is known for its high-flying offenses, but defensive coordinator Jim Knowles has put together one of the most dominant units in college football. The Cowboys defense ranks No. 2 in FEI, along with No. 1 in net points per drive, EPA margin and defensive success rate. Translated another way: Oklahoma State's defense swarms when you run and terrorizes when you pass in the same vein as the great defenses at Georgia and Wisconsin. No opponent has cleared 24 points.

Closed QB pipeline: The last three starting quarterbacks to graduate from Oklahoma are now starting in the NFL. But after real optimism around Spencer Rattler and No. 1 QB recruit Caleb Williams, quarterback play has quickly become perhaps the Sooners' most pressing issue. Over his last two games, Williams has combined to complete 17-of-36 passes for just 229 yards, one touchdown and three interceptions. He added a 74-yard touchdown on a broken play against Iowa State, but the consistency hasn't been there. Oklahoma's 14 points and 260 total yards against Baylor were the lowest points of the Riley era -- either as head coach or offensive coordinator. Just 305 yards against Iowa State ranked near the bottom, too. Oklahoma State has a better defense than either.

Oklahoma vs. Oklahoma State prediction, picks

Oklahoma was a trendy pick to win the national championship entering the season -- including by this author. Unfortunately, there's only so much waiting we can muster before we acknowledge that the proverbial Mr. Godot is not coming. Oklahoma State has been consistently better and more dominant all season long, and it is playing its best football with a chance to reach its first Big 12 Championship Game. The Cowboys won't waste this moment. Prediction: Oklahoma State (-4)

The Oklahoma Sooners and Oklahoma State Cowboys are getting set for their annual rivalry meeting. Here’s when Bedlam will take place this season.

The Oklahoma Sooners are reeling from their loss to the Baylor Bears and now they’re trying to recover some momentum following the loss in Waco. One key game that could help their cause is a rivalry game they tend to win: Bedlam.

But the Oklahoma State Cowboys are in the midst of a pretty solid season of their own. With a 9-1 record of their own, the Cowboys are having a season that looks very similar to Oklahoma’s. There’s a good chance that, with Bedlam happening in Stillwater this season, the Cowboys can get their fifth win against Oklahoma since 2000.

Oklahoma vs. Oklahoma State: What channel will Bedlam be broadcast on?

Monday, the Big 12 unveiled the schedule and broadcast information for Bedlam this season.

Bedlam: What time will Oklahoma vs. Oklahoma State kickoff?

The Big 12 announced that Bedlam will begin at 6:30 p.m. CT in Boone Pickens Stadium, the home of Oklahoma State football. The game will be televised on ABC. That should mean Chris Fowler and Kirk Herbstreit are on the call for the game. There is a chance College GameDay could be there as well but with Ohio State-Michigan that day, it may not get the call.

This is a series that generally involves Oklahoma winning on an annual basis. The Cowboys only have four wins this century, winning in 2001, 2002, 2011 and 2014. Oklahoma State will have an opportunity to win, but this series is incredibly lopsided in Oklahoma’s favor.

The Oklahoma Sooners and Oklahoma State Cowboys meet up in Week 13 at Boone Pickens Stadium in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET and the game will air on ABC. The one-loss, in-state rivals will play the first of what could be two matchups against one another if they meet up in the Big 12 Championship Game. This is Bedlam.

Oklahoma State (10-1, 7-1 Big 12) already clinched a spot in the conference title game, but the Cowboys should still be plenty motivated because they’re still alive for Playoff consideration. Oklahoma (10-1, 7-1 Big 12) would qualify for the Big 12 Championship with a victory and if the Sooners fall short, they would need the Baylor Bears to lose their game against the Texas Tech Red Raiders that begins at noon ET.

If you aren’t around a TV to watch the game on Saturday, you can stream the game with ABC, WatchESPN or via their mobile apps. But keep in mind that you need a cable-login subscription. If you don’t have a cable login to access ABC for a live stream, you can get a free trial from YouTube TV, Hulu with Live TV, DirecTV Stream, FuboTV, or Sling TV to stream the game.

Oklahoma State is a 4.5-point favorite at DraftKings Sportsbook, and -190 on the moneyline. That makes Oklahoma a +160 moneyline underdog, with the point total set at 49.5.

Death, taxes and Bedlam having major Big 12 implications.

The rivalry between Oklahoma State and Oklahoma is one of the nation's longest, but also one of the nation's most lopsided. The Sooners have won all but twice since 2003, including six in a row since 2015 and lead the all-time series 90-18-7 dating back to 1904.

But this year's matchup of the famed game has extra importance for both teams. The Cowboys, led by Mike Gundy and currently ranked No. 9, already punched their ticket to the conference title game, their first since 2011 when they finished the season ranked No. 3 in the country.

If the No. 13 ranked Sooners win Bedlam, as has become commonplace over the recent years, then they'll face off against the Cowboys for a rematch in the Big 12 title game. But if Oklahoma loses, then things get more interesting. The easiest scenario would be for Texas Tech to upset Baylor, which would punch OU's ticket as Oklahoma would have two conference losses to Baylor's three. If the Bears win, however, they're in as they own the head-to-head.

Oklahoma has beaten a higher ranked Oklahoma State squad five times, including last year, and the Sooners are 5-3 in Bedlam when Oklahoma State is ranked higher.

The Sooners have been led by freshman quarterback sensation Caleb Williams, who's got 15 touchdowns to just four picks and is completing nearly 66 percent of his passes through his nine games played. Oklahoma State, meanwhile, is a much more defensive minded team and they rank first nationally in third down defense, second in scoring defense and third in total defense.
