Update Chrome - Android

Last month, Google started to roll out the stable version of Chrome 96 web browser for PCs and smartphones. The update was in the works for quite some time now. The new version brings a few changes and improvements to the browser but Android users should wait before installing the latest update on their device. The update is reportedly causing issues with apps on Android devices. According to a report by 9to5Google, more than 60 issues about the Chrome 96 are marked on Googles bug tracker.
Several users on Google support forum have reported that a few apps on their Android smartphones are not able to load after installing the latest Chrome update. I've restarted a bunch of times and have cleared the cache but only a few apps load. a user wrote on the forum. Users have mentioned that Google apps are especially facing issues after installing the Chrome 96.
Google has acknowledged the issues and has assured users that it is working to resolve them. Thank you for raising this issue to our attention of being unable to launch apps after updating to M96 stable. Our team is aware of this and we are working quickly to resolve this issue. wrote Chromes support manager.
Although the company started to roll out the update last month, it was widely released to a large number of users last week. Chrome 96 brings support for backward-forward cache for the desktop version. With this feature, the browser will save some data from the frequently or recently visited website to make navigation through them faster. Apart from this, the browser also gets a new site-wise dark theme mode which allows users to enable dark theme for certain websites.
With the update, the company has also stopped the sync feature for Chrome users who are still using browsers version M48 or earlier. For those who dont know, the Chrome sync feature on the browser stores your passwords, bookmarks, search history, open tabs and preferred settings on the company's server. This feature helps you to access all the stored information across various devices by using the same Google account. It also helps you to automatically sign in to Gmail, YouTube and other Google services.
