iOS 15.4 comes with a variety of great new features like Universal Control for iPad and Face ID With a Mask for iPhone. Follow along for how to install iOS 15 beta to test everything out.

Apple has now released both the free public beta and developer beta for iOS 15.4. Along with Face ID With a Mask for iPhone and the anticipated Universal Control for iPad, the iOS 15.4 beta includes over 30 new emoji, a new widget for the Wallet app, notes support for passwords, and more.

Below well cover how to install both the free iOS 15 public beta and developer beta.


How to install iOS 15 public beta

  1. Make a fresh backup of your iPhone or iPad
  2. On your iPhone or iPad, head toApples public beta website
  3. Tap thearrowin the top right corner, sign in if youre not already
  4. Now make sure youre on the iOS Guide for Public Betas
  5. Swipe down and under the Get Started section, tapenroll your iOS device
  6. Swipe down again and tap Download Profile
  7. TapAllowto download the profile, hitClose
  8. Head to Settings on your device and tapProfile Downloadednear the top
  9. TapInstallin the top right corner, enter your passcode if needed
  10. Read the consent agreement, then tapInstalltwo more times
  11. Your iPhone or iPad will prompt you to restart to complete the changes
  12. After it reboots, head back to Settings > General >Software update
  13. You should see iOS 15 public beta available, tapDownload and Install

How to install iOS 15 developer beta

If youre not already enrolled as an Apple Developer, youll need to do that here (runs $99/year).

  1. Make a fresh backup of your iPhone or iPad
  2. On your iPhone or iPad, head toApples Developer website
  3. Tap thetwo-line iconin the top left corner, sign in if youre not already underAccount
  4. Tap the two-line icon in the top left corner again, chooseDownloads
  5. Swipe down and tapInstall Profilenext to the iOS 15.4 beta or iPadOS 15.4 beta
  6. TapAllowto download the profile, hitClose
  7. Head to Settings on your device and tapProfile Downloadednear the top
  8. TapInstallin the top right corner, enter your passcode if needed
  9. Read the consent agreement, then tapInstalltwo more times
  10. Your iPhone or iPad will prompt you to restart to complete the changes
  11. After it reboots, head back to Settings > General >Software update
  12. You should see iOS 15 available, tapDownload and Install
