What Will I Need to Stream from Xbox One to Twitch?

If you already have an Xbox One, Xbox One S or Xbox One X and a TV set, you won't need much more to start your first stream on Twitch. However, you'll have to make sure that your console is connected to the Internet either through a wireless connection or a wired one. The console's controller should be used to navigate through menus or to play a game.

However, if you're sharing your videos to Microsoft's Mixer live streaming platform you can use any Windows compatible webcam.

If you want to use the Kinect Sensor on Xbox One S or Xbox One X you'll have to get the Kinect adapter since the sensor is only compatible with the original Xbox One. How to Stream from Xbox One to Twitch?

Now that your Xbox One is up and running your first step should be to download the free Twitch app to your console. You can do this from the Store tab, by simply typing the app's name in the search bar. You'll be able to see the app in the search results, so just click on it and the then click on Get button when the app's official listing window appears on the screen.

The Twitch app will be installed on your console and you can find it from My Games & Apps window in the Guide menu that can be accessed by pressing the Xbox button on the controller. How to Stream with Microphone and Camera on Twitch

Before you start a stream on Twitch from an Xbox One gaming console you can add a webcam and a microphone to your stream. If you have a Kinect sensor you can easily turn it into a webcam, but if you don't, you can use any webcam that is compatible with a Windows PC and that has a USB port. However, you can only use third-party webcams if you are streaming to Mixer, while Kinect is still your only webcam option if you want to share broadcasts on Twitch.

Use the audio in or a USB port to connect the microphone to the Xbox One and head over to Twitch App. Bring up the Settings menu and make sure that the Enable Microphone box is checked, and then check the Enable Kinect option. And that's it, your microphone and Kinect Sensor are going to record audio and video footage during your stream.
