Setting up Drive for an .edu email?

Hello,
I'm trying to figure out how to set up Google Drive using my student .edu account. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Blade, Google Drive is for Google Accounts (ending with @gmail.com or can end with a non-Gmail address like Yahoo) and G Suite account. If the .edu account is an G Suite account, talk to your admin and some of the articles about G Suite Drive://support.google.com/a/answer/6085538?hl=en,//support.google.com/a/answer/7492096?hl=en, and to see how much storage you should have based upon the type of G Suite you have//support.google.com/a/answer/9214707?hl=en&ref_topic=1727149

To try to create a Google Account with a non-Gmail address://support.google.com/accounts/answer/27441?hl=enand then in that process it should ask you if you are going to set it up with a pre-existing email like Yahoo.

In addition to all the resource my friend Penelope shared I'd like to add some directions.
If your device is owned by the school then contacting the Google Admin is the route to take.
When setting up on Back Up & Sync or File Stream on a personal device it may be a simple matter of logging into the School Google Account.
  • Once signed into the School Account
  • Go to Google Drive
  • Click the Setting Gear
    • Select Drive File Stream (note it may say Back Up & Sync)
      • If on a Chromebook nothing needs to be installed
      • If you are not able to install Drive File Stream or Back Up & Sync then seek the help of the school Google Admin. It is sometimes someone in IT but may be a teacher or another form of administration.
