Announced on August 19, 2022, PT Hino Motors Sales Indonesia (HMSI) held a Panel Discussion at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show 2022 (GIIAS2022), taking the theme of Hino Indonesia’s 40th anniversary, as the establishment of PT Hino Indonesia Manufacturing (HIM) was in 1982.
At GIIAS 2022, which ran from August 11-21, Hino Indonesia also showcases its future products, namely the Hino Dutro Z EV, Hino200 series, as well as the Dutro 136 HDL 6x2 Plantation (concept model).
Hino Dutro Z EV, the brand’s first full-scale EV with a low chassis, uses a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 40 kWh for distribution of power to the electric motor. With the normal AC charging type 1, a full charge requires 5 hours, while a quick charging DC CHAdeMo claims a full charge time in 1 hour. This electric truck can cover a distance of over 100 km in full condition and has a payload of up to 1 Ton. It also features many safety features such as Pre-Collision Safety (PCS), Electric Parking Brake, Clearance Sonar, the Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS), etc.
Hino200 Series, the small trucks set to mark Hino Indonesia’s entry into the category 1 or pickup segment in the near future, owns a bed length of about 3 meters, and a wheelbase of 2,545-mm and a GVW of 3.4 tons. It has a power of 144PS/3,400rpm with a Euro4 engine, mated to a 5-speed transmission.
In addition, Hino also presented the Dutro 136 HDL 6x2 Plantation, the soon-to-be-launched concept model, at GIIAS 2022. This is the first light duty truck in Indonesia with a 6x2 or 10-wheel configuration. The model, made for CPO tank body applications, has a GVW of up to 14 tons.

On July 28, 2022, Hino Motors, Ltd. announced its consolidated net sales for the first quarter of the fiscal year ending March 31, 2023 (April 1, 2022 to June 30, 2022) increased by 3.6% year-on-year to JPY 355.9 billion.
Operating income decreased by 73.3% year-on-year to JPY 4.3 billion. In the black, thanks to the growth of overseas sales, the effect of exchange rates, etc. despite the worsening of domestic sales due to the misconduct for certification in Japan and parts supply shortages.
Net income attributable to owners of the parent decreased 88.6% to JPY 0.7 billion.
Global sales volume (retail) increased by 2.0% year-on-year to 37,036 units.
As for the forecasts of consolidated financial results for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2023 (April 1, 2022 to March 31, 2023), there are some uncertain factors that may affect business results, so Hino will refrain from disclosing it in the financial results. Consolidated earnings forecast will be announced when it becomes reasonably predictable.

On 8 July, Toyota announced that toyota, Isuzu Motors, DENSO, Hino Motors, and Commercial Japan Partnership Technologies Corporation (CJPT) have started planning and foundational research on hydrogen engines for heavy-duty commercial vehicles with the aim of further utilizing internal combustion engines as one option to achieve carbon neutrality.
On the road to carbon neutrality, there are various powertrain options to meet customers' demands, including HEVs, BEVs, and FCEVs, in accordance with the differences in energy conditions in different countries and diversified customer uses.
They will utilize the technologies and know-how each company has accumulated to study the potential of hydrogen engines in heavy-duty commercial vehicles.
